Non-immigrant type O (Retirement)

Before applying for your Retirement visa, you must first have a Non-O visa (like education).
After staying at least 60 days on your new Non -O visa you may then change to a retirement visa. 
Tourist visa holders can also change to a Non-O retirement visa in Thailand.

The guideline to approve the retirement Visa is as follows  :

•    The applicant must first get a Non-O Visa.
•    Must be 50 years of age or older. 
    “We recommend being at least 51”

1. Required Documents for Retirement Visa Prepare for 1 set. (First Application)

Document requirements:

•    TM. 7 Application form
•    3 self-portrait pictures in 2 inches size: 4X6 C.M.
•    A signed copy of passport (every page)
•    Receipt
of notification (TM. 30)
•    A copy of your rental agreement or house contract. (House registration or a letter from the house owner)

Financial statement:

•    You will need a bank statement showing at least 800,000 Thai Baht is in and has been in your account for at least 2 months.
•    After the application is approved you will get a 1-month visa stamp to get you going in the right direction and giving Immigration time to finish your background check.
•    Next you will receive another 11-month approved visa stamp for a total of 12 months, or one year. You must keep the 800,000 Baht in your account for at least 3 months before spending any of it. After 3 months you can spend money from the 800,000 but you must keep at least 400,000 in the account at all times until the last two months before renewal where the account will need to show 800,000 once again.  (The bank statement you need will expire after 7 days)
•    A copy of your bank book which must have been updated on the day the application is submitted.
•    Another option
is to provide bank documents showing you have at least 65,000 Thai Baht per month of income being deposited into your account each month. If using this option, be advised the document from your bank will need to be certified at your consulate and will expire after 6 months.

2. Required Documents for Retirement Visa Extension.

Document requirements:

  • TM.7 Application form

  • 1 self-portrait picture (2 inches size 4X6 C.M.)

  • A signed copy of passport (every page)

  • Receipt of notification (TM.30)

  • A copy of evidence that identify the residence (House registration or a letter from the house owner)

Financial statement:

•    You will need a bank statement showing at least 800,000 Thai Baht is in and has been in your account for at least 2 months.
•    After the application is approved you will get a 1-month visa stamp to get you going in the right direction and giving Immigration time to finish your background check.

****Saving deposit of fixed account must show only foreigner name. But if you show the join account less than 1,600,000 Baht****
